Monday November 30th - Global for Virtual Weather Good Afternoon! I hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving break, and all hunters have had a safe and successful start to your season!! I am calling this afternoon to notify all families that we will be doing a virtual weather day tomorrow, Tuesday, December 1st. The forecast is calling for our rain to turn to snow overnight, and then continuing with lake effect snow all day with accumulations of up to 16 inches by Wednesday morning. My hope is that the storm misses us, but it does give us a great opportunity to test our online system for weather. By doing school virtually, we will not have to make this day up in the future as we have had to do in the past. There is also no last second notification of a 2 hour delay, cancellation, or early dismissal. Please note, this is a day of school. We will be attending classes just like we did last week - synchronously. Again, this counts as a day of school and students need to attend classes the same as they did last week. Our buildings have or will be calling all internet cafe students that came to school last week. If you are unable to receive an internet signal at your home, we will deliver the work to you tomorrow morning. We will make the call on extra curricular activities tomorrow afternoon after we see if and how the storm hits us. We will be sure to communicate with coaches and players in a timely manner. If you have any questions or concerns, please email your building principals today or call the main offices after 7:30 AM tomorrow. -- Matthew W. Bennett Superintendent Union City Area School District
